Ellison Hargis King (she/her/hers), MS, Ed.S, LPCA

I’m Ellison Hargis King, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, and I help people navigate life’s ups and downs. I strive to bring a warm, grounded presence to therapy, helping people feel seen, understood, and safe as they grow.

I earned my MS and EdS degrees from UNC Greensboro in 2016 and have worked as an elementary school counselor ever since. My work in schools has given me a deep understanding of the academic, social, and emotional challenges children and teens face, as well as how closely these experiences are connected to family life, identity development, and self-esteem.

I became licensed as an LPCA in South Carolina in February 2025. My work focuses on supporting those who struggle with emotional regulation related to anxiety, ADHD, autism, life stressors, and challenges that are sometimes harder to pinpoint. I’m especially interested in creating inclusive, equitable spaces where all people feel welcomed and valued. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and a deep respect for each client’s voice and needs.

I currently see clients ages 3–25, with virtual sessions available for ages 12 and up anywhere in South Carolina. I offer in-person counseling for those 18 and under on Mondays near downtown Greenville, SC. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client’s unique needs, drawing from play therapy, person centered therapy, and solution-focused techniques. I believe in building on strengths, fostering resilience, and partnering with families to help people feel more confident, capable, and understood.

I’ve called Greenville home since moving from North Carolina in June 2024. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and dog, tolerating my cat, tending to my houseplants, running (slowly) and hiking, listening to a ton of audiobooks, and being creative.
